Ho-Chunk Hope offers a special Lifestyle Balance Program for Program for Pre-Diabetics.  This sixteen-session program will provide you the tools you need to delay or prevent the disease.  The sessions are approximately one hour and focus on:

Diet and exercise are the main features of this program, but there are plenty of ideas and support to help you stick with it.  Eating healthy and following recommended guidelines for Diabetes prevention are essential.

Screening is the Key to Prevention

Because it is the first important step in prevention and management, Ho-Chunk Hope offers monthly screenings so you can find out if you have Pre-Diabetes or Diabetes.

It is a simple test but you will need to fast overnight and have your blood glucose measured first thing in the morning.  To make testing as convenient as possible Ho-Chunk Hope sets up visits for screening at various locations all around the area including Littlepriest Tribal College, Winnavegas Casino, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Dollar General and others.
