Water Quality Specialist

Because of our close cultural ties with the water the condition of the natural environment and how that condition affects human health and ecosystems is hugely important to us.

The Water Quality Program and Nonpoint Source Water Pollution Program determines the condition of the natural environment and protects human health and welfare of tribal members and other individuals residing within the exterior boundaries of the Reservation.

The Water Quality Program and Nonpoint Source Water Pollution Program provides the Tribe a continuing opportunity to carry on its work assessing the quality of their surface water resources on the Reservation and assist in the future development of their own EPA approved Water Quality Standards.

The Tribe’s Water Quality Specialist maintains an extensive surface water monitoring program by conducting physical, chemical and biological monitoring at targeted locations; assesses surface water quality condition.
